Gujarat Titans started their innings well with 67 Runs opening partnership in IPL final as few chances were dropped by CSK. Shubman Gill’s catch was dropped by Deepak Chahar when he had scored only 3 runs. By scoring 96 runs off just 47 balls, Sai Sudharsan helped Gujarat Titans reach a score of 214/4. The 23-year-old Chennai native made the most of the final few overs by slamming eight fours and six sixes in his innings. Wriddhiman Saha had earlier scored 54 off 39 on a day when his talented opening partner Shubman Gill was only able to score 39 off 20. Jadeja took Shubman’s wicket with the help of Dhoni’s lightning-fast stumping.

As Chennai Super Kings started their innings after three balls Rain started. The match resumed at 12:10 am on 30 May 2023. For first-time IPL final has gone to the third day.

SCORED REVISED AFTER THE RAIN

CSK needed 171 in 15 overs. Powerplay of 4 overs. 3 overs limit for each bowler.

CSK openers started very well after the rain. Before the bowling timeout, after 6 overs CSK managed to score 72 runs with 12 runs per over which was par with the requirement.

Soon after Timeout in 7 over both openers were dismissed by Noor Ahmad. Batsman tried to cop with Run Rate required but end up giving a wicket. Before Batting Timeout CSK were 133/3 and required 38 runs out of 18 balls. Ambati Rayudu started with 6,4,6 consecutive deliveries. On the 4th ball, Mohit Sharma took his wicket and Dhoni’s Wicket on the next ball.

CSK required 13 runs in the final over. Ravindra Jadeja did that for CSK. 10 runs were required of the last 2 balls Jadeja Smashed 6 and 4 of the next two balls. Chennai Super Kings wins IPL 5th Title.
